Know About Barcode Fonts

Barcode is machine readable information. They can be read by the barcode scanning devices. Barcodes are printed by the barcode printer on the tag or label. This barcode label is affixed on the product or item. In order to get nice barcode printing you can use the Zebra printers. Choosing right size and font of the barcode is important.

First you need to choose a font in your application package, like a work processor and type of characters in the barcode. They are very rarely used for very specific task. It is limited for it's application. After choosing the right font, the barcode appears on the screen. Then you can print such barcode font as the part of your document. You can use smaller font size, so that the printer prints the code with higher resolution. Try to generate a code using a 10 point type and printing it on a 300 dpi laser printer, if you chose a font like Code 39 installed.

You can see the code to check the width of the narrow bars with the width of the narrow spaces by using the magnifying glass. Such narrow bars and narrow spaces should be equal. If you conclude that bars are nearly twice as wide as the spaces, then this code would not be applicable.

You may require any barcode printing program in order to avoid this type of glitches that take place. Some barcode applications, will not print a code unless a narrow bar is at least three dots width. Suppose, each dot is 0.0033 inches in diameter on a 300dpi laser printer.

You can get some barcode prints for trial and look it by using magnifying glass, in order to make sure the best result. Then again look at the narrow bars and narrow spaces, to check whether their width is equal.
