Parents can help child to improve their creative thinking. Creative thinking is a skill that can used to create new ideas, explore possibilities, develop and expand the new concepts. Everyone is familiar that creative thinking skills are not encouraged by home environment with TV, cell phones, and MP3 players and others. There are few guidelines to parents to teach their children creative thinking, such as:
Restrict few things: parents need to restrict few things like TV, using computer, cell phones in the home. Passive thinking is encouraged by all of these devices. Now a days children are spending less time on playing activities, but they are spending much time on entertaining things. They need to engage on activities, creative plays which help them to build their brains. Educate them about bad effects of watching TV and playing too many video games.
Tools for creative thinking: Children should be allowed to make things, create, or build something new, like building blocks, clay. Encourage them to explore their own interests and explore the nature of cause and effect, by toys and activities.
Develop problem solving capacity: If children face any challenges then parents allow them to solve or find out the solution themselves with out involving into the matter. It may not be easy, child may struggle to solve that. But that problem or challenge should match their capabilities. By this child get confidence and improves his ability of creative thinking. If child is not able to find the solution or if he takes long time to think, then parents can help him.
